LAEL VAN KEUREN1. Hey Lael! How did the 1st stop on the National Tour go?
Our 1st stop was in Chattanooga, TN for tech and two previews. It was a bonding experience! We have a pretty amazing company. 2. You were in the ensemble and understudied the role on Broadway. How did playing Mary Robert on the 1st National Tour come about? I had the opportunity to go on for Mary Robert quite a few times on Broadway. I kind of heard through the grapevine that different members of our creative & casting team were coming to see me in this role. I was beyond thrilled when I got the offer to play the part on the 1st National Tour! Little angels little angels! 3. What are 3 items you cannot travel without? Throat Coat, yoga mat, & La Ducas... cause you never know when you're gonna find some fierce theatre dance class. 4. Which city are you most looking forward to visiting? Orlando! I've never been to Harry Potter World! 5. The Broadway production recently finished it's run. What is one moment in the run you will cherish forever? Taking my first bow on a Broadway stage. March 24, 2011. 10:25pm. Oh and then watching Patina Miller take her star bow...I was bawling like a baby! Just red faced and gloriously happy. Actually, I can't think of a single day that doesn't contain a memory I will cherish forever... so cheesy, but no joke!!! 6. Is it hard to adjusting to the changes made for the tour since you began rehearsals so soon after the Broadway production closed? Haha, it's true, we had our closing night party on Sunday, and started rehearsals on Monday at 10am! I LOVE all the little changes that have been made for the tour. It's good for your brain when you shake things up a bit! 7. Quick fire round: - Favorite T.V show(s)? Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Downton Abby, Castle, Gilmore Girls, How I Met Your Mother - Favorite musical(s)? Ragtime, Cabaret, Company, South Pacific, Chicago, Carousel, ahhh so many more!
